Tricking yourself into eating more fruits and vegetables

Week 3

September is recognized as Fruits and Veggies month! We here at Electric Scooter Store always encourage you to live a healthier lifestyle, and what could be healthier than fruits and vegetables? But, we understand that introducing them into your diet is not always easy. That’s why we’ve come up with some ways that you can sneak them in:

Breakfast

Take some fresh, cut fruit or bags of frozen fruit and place them over breakfast favorites such as oatmeal, yogurt or cereal. If you prefer eggs in the morning, whip up some scrambled eggs or omelets and cover them in peppers, jalapenos, onions, tomatoes or olives. If you don’t have time in the morning, here are some great recipes for mason jar oatmeal that you can make ahead of time!

Lunch

Ever heard of bread “gutting”? That’s where sandwich shops scoop out the center of the bread so there’s more room for fillings. Request your favorite shop do this the next time you go out for lunch, and use that extra space to fill it up with vegetables!

Snack

Many of us have that candy dish by our desk, and many of us fill it up with things that are just no good for us. To satisfy that sweet craving, why not get fruit that’s covered in chocolate? Chocolate-covered raisins are one example. If you want something that’s akin to ice cream, a chocolate-covered banana is another.

Dinner

Taking your favorite veggies and shaving them down with a grater is an easy way to sneak them into different dishes. Think peppers in meatloaf, carrots in your curry and squash in your pasta.

Just remember, it takes a bit of an adjustment any time you introduce something new into your diet or lifestyle. But, with just a few adjustments, you can live a healthier, better life.
